Welcome to St Matthew's Primary School

We are a busy, friendly school based in the heart of Bolton. Our website aims to give you an overview of what is going on in school as well as up-to-date information for parents, carers, pupils and the wider community. We are extremely proud of our school and visitors are always welcome. 

St. Matthew’s is a 2-form entry Church of England Primary School situated very close to the town centre of Bolton.  We embrace a child-centred approach to learning, celebrating everyone’s achievements and encouraging all children from all backgrounds to realise their full potential.

Our school has a welcoming, positive ethos and happy atmosphere and we enjoy a close relationship with the wider community along with local schools and nurseries.  Our children are keen to learn; they are well-motivated, positive, caring and responsive, reflecting our strong Christian values of love, respect, friendship and creativity realised through our school vision: “Let all you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14).
