Welcome to St Matthew's Primary School
We are a busy, friendly school based in the heart of Bolton.
Our website aims to give you an overview of what is going on in school as well as up-to-date information for parents, carers, pupils and the wider community. We hope you enjoy your visit to the site and if you would like to meet us in person, I would be delighted to show you around. We are extremely proud of our school and visitors are always welcome. Please contact the school office to make an appointment for a tour.
St. Matthew’s is a 2 form entry Church of England Primary School situated very close to the town centre of Bolton. We embrace a child-centred approach to learning, celebrating each individual’s achievements and encouraging all children to realise their full potential.
Our school has a welcoming, positive ethos and happy atmosphere and we enjoy a close relationship with the wider community along with local schools and nurseries. Our children are keen to learn; they are well-motivated, positive, caring and responsive, reflecting our strong Christian values. The school has high expectations and aspirations for each of our children and both staff and children are proud to belong to our family. Parents support the school’s values and everyone feels safe and respected. Our school community is made up of a wide variety of families from many different backgrounds. We work closely with the local churches and clergy and we are proactive in the teaching of Christian values in order to nurture all aspects of our pupils’ development; academic, spiritual, social and moral.
Our children thrive in a safe, caring and comfortable environment of colourful classrooms and extended provision for additional learning areas.
We are passionate about helping each child to become equipped with the skills and attributes they need to succeed in life and become lasting learners and, of course, we know how important it is to have fun too!
Thank you for visiting our website and please remember you are more than welcome to visit in person.
